Open Stage 3 by clicking the orange Stage 3 divider. Click the "+Add New" link next to the Learning Events subheading. A familiar pop-up box appears. The pop-up box is divided into four parts, accessed by clicking the numbered links in the orange mini-menu bar.
1. Title and Details
On this page of the pop up, title the event and specify the approximate amount of classroom time the event will take. Also, specify the purpose or aim of this event, to make meaning, acquire, or transfer. Check each purpose that applies.
2. Event Types
On this page you will create a standardized title for the event by combining a general topic with one or more event types or categories. There may be more than one page of event types, so be sure to click through each page in the list using the blue numbered page links on the upper right. Place check marks in events that most specifically describe your learning event.
3. Description
Here you can provide a description of the learning event and/or write instructions for guiding a classroom through the event.
4. Textbook Correlation
If this event is correlated with a specific chapter or lesson in a textbook or trade book, you can use this area to identify the page correlation.
When you have finished with each of the pages of the Add Event pop-up, click the "Add" button. The pop-up will close and the new event will appear, surrounded by a blue box, under the Event subheading.
You can edit, sort, or delete events using the red icons in each event box. Click the title of the event to open the different sections of the event, including sections for details (or instructions), alignment, student handouts, and notes.
