Managing Units: Unit Portfolio Overview

Next Topic   |  Return to Contents

The unit portfolio is a tool for managing your curricular units. From the unit portfolio, you can create new units and borrow master or peer units. You can edit, copy, and schedule your existing units. You can also browse master and scheduled peer units, and copy the units you wish for your own use.

To access the unit portfolio, click the link in the upper menu bar or click the link in the section titled "My Unit Portfolio" on the home page.

The portfolio is divided into four separate sections: My Units, File Cabinet (Archived Units), Peer Units, and Master Units. Each of these sections displays a different set of units.

The My Units section is displays units that you can edit and schedule.

The File Cabinet is used to store units that you no longer want to see in the My Units section.

Peer Units displays the scheduled units of the other users in your subscription.

The Master Units section contains example units that can be copied into the My Units section. Your subscription administrator controls the units that appear in the Master Units section.

All of the sections offer a filter which can be used to narrow the display to only those units that meet specific criteria. For example, you can filter the units by grade level or subject, on a date range (for scheduled units), or search for a key word in the unit title. Open the filter on any of the lists by clicking the "Show Filter" link in the gray bar above the list.

Note: Only units that have been scheduled will appear in a peer unit search. Your "peers" are the other users in your subscription.
