Users with subscription administration permissions can create overarching essential questions and understandings which will be available to all designers in the subscription as they build their units.
To create an overarching essential question or understanding:
From the home page of Curriculum Framer, under the "Subscription Administration" heading, click either the "Overarching Essential Questions" or the "Overarching Understandings" link.
Overarching essential questions and understandings are categorized by scholastic program / subject. They can be further sub-categorized by either grade or course. To begin, choose a program / subject from the drop down displayed. The list of possible subjects comes from the subject list in Curriculum Framer.
Once a program has been chosen, a list of overarching questions or understandings assigned to the program is displayed. You can add a new question or understanding to this list by entering it the "name" box and clicking add. The text of the overarching questions and understandings cannot be edited or changed; however, you can hide them from users or delete them. If you delete an overarching question or understanding, it will no longer be available in reports even if users have already used it in their units. For this reason, it is better to simply hide outdated or otherwise undesired elements.
From the program/subject overarching questions or understandings list, you can choose either a course name (if any exist) or a grade level to view a subcategory list. You can add or remove the questions and understandings in these subcategories in the same way as the program elements.
